GPS Links Scope
Software development and systems integration for the control and monitoring of the PMS system including switchboards from the HV supply down, two 2MVA CHP engines powered by biogas from the site AD plant, and two 2.5MVA diesel generators.
Detail scope includes design, FDS, programming, testing, and commissioning of the PLC, HMI, & SCADA systems serving the site. Plus, design manufacture, delivery erection and commissioning of the PMS, interlocking and neutral earth Form 2 control panels.
Project delivery and outcomes
GPS successfully completed the 5000-hour software and systems integration project, including 4000 hours of software development and 1000 hours of testing and commissioning, and delivered a 7.5 metre ICA panel with three Rockwell ControlLogix PLCs and almost 5000 I/O for the PMS, ICS and NE control systems.
GPS worked closely with Thames Water and Eight2o to plan the shutdowns and minimise disruption to the process in testing all elements of the HV switchgear controlled by the PMS, including a site-wide black start test. The required level of planning was achieved through a highly detailed FDS and 400-page test document, and a rigorous joint review process.
